After a long year of practicing, recording and producing, the Churchill Flute Band’s first CD is now available. It features a wide range of tunes from our repertoire and hopefully shows off the best of what we play. As you’d expect from a marching band there’s a good selection of marches on the CD along with the best of our concert pieces, both old and new.
Almost all of the CDs are gone now. There are still a few left in the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall as well as in the shop in the Orange Order's offices in Schomberg House.
The CD is a first for the band and thanks must go to several people for making it possible.
Conductor Simon Mowbray, for his dedication and perseverance during the long rehearsals, Ian Mowbray for making all the music available, Mr Doonan for his knowledge and advice in the recording studio and to all the members who gave up their weekends for the recordings.
We would also like to thank Awards For All for funding towards this project, to everyone involved in the design of the CD with special thanks to Derry City Council for making the front image available.
Lastly we would like to thank you for taking the time to purchase our CD. We aimed to produce a varied and entertaining program and we hope you find the diversity of the pieces we have selected as enjoyable to listen to as we enjoyed recording.
